Responsibilities

Serves as the only state-wide Children's Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) insurance specialist, this position helps clients access affordable health insurance coverage and coordinate state and federal insurance benefits
This position administers the Insurance Premium Payment Benefit Assistance (IPPBA) component of CSHCS
In addition, the position is responsible for researching and analyzing changes in the insurance industry, anticipating impacts for CSHCS, and recommending strategies to ensure families use all available resources to obtain comprehensive health services for children enrolled in the program

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level

Preferred

A bachelor's degree in social work, health services, business relations, or a closely related field
Experience working with children with special health care needs or an understanding of the challenges they and their families face
At least three years of knowledge and experience working with healthcare insurance providers and/or coordinating benefits for individuals
