PR Account Executive

S/B Strategic Marketing is a full-service marketing communications firm located in Madison, Wisconsin. They are seeking a PR Account Executive who will contribute to client accounts by developing and executing integrated public relations and communications programs, translating client goals into effective PR strategies and compelling stories.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day client communications and account coordination
Help translate client goals into PR strategies, messaging, and tactical plans
Prepare materials for client meetings, updates, and presentations
Draft press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, messaging documents, and other PR content
Research, build, and maintain media lists across relevant industries and outlets
Support media outreach, interview coordination, and follow-up
Monitor media coverage and news trends to identify proactive opportunities
Execute PR initiatives across earned and owned channels as part of integrated campaigns
Track coverage, compile reports, and analyze results against campaign objectives
Maintain strong attention to detail across all deliverables and timelines
Collaborate with internal teams (account, creative, digital, media) to ensure cohesive execution
Support team members and contribute positively to team culture
Stay informed on PR, media, and industry trends to bring fresh ideas to the table

Required

2–3 years of relevant experience (agency experience preferred)
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Understanding of media relations, pitching, and news cycles
Confident verbal communication and client-facing skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with media monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Brandwatch, or similar)
Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn

Preferred

Agency experience preferred
Familiarity with social media as part of an integrated PR strategy is a plus, but not the primary focus
