Payroll Analyst
Montrose Environmental Group is a leading environmental services company focused on supporting clients with environmental challenges. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for planning and coordinating payroll functions in North America, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, and maintaining relationships with external auditors and tax agencies.

Responsibilities
Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data using an automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll, and ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, SOX compliance, etc
Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
Assists managers with resolving payroll discrepancies
Calculates hours from time entry system(s) as applicable
Assists with HR related projects
Assists with evaluating and providing recommendations in regard to systems, policies and processes
Assists with completing pre-acquisition and post-acquisition support tasks related to payroll integration and training, etc
Assists with items needed for audits
Assist with post-payroll reporting and reconciliation activities
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Participates in company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience with payroll systems and related software programs
High school diploma/GED
Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to payroll, company policies, and operations
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent organization and time/project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
English language competency
Ability/willingness to travel as needed
Preferred
Familiarity with Workday, ADP Smart Compliance, ADP Payment Solutions, or other HRIS/Payroll systems highly preferred
