Responsibilities
Conduct analysis, interpret results, and makes recommendations that support the maintenance of competitive pay structures designed to attract, retain, motivate, and reward talent in accordance with Magna’s Employee Charter principles
Leads and/or supports administration and ongoing optimization of compensation programs, including pay structures, merit cycles, incentive plans and employee recognition programs
Partners with North America HR Teams to ensure compensation programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational governance standards
Conducts salary administration activities such as annual salary planning, market analysis, benchmarking, internal equity reviews, job evaluation, and compensation modeling
Provides guidance to HR and business leaders on offers, promotions, internal transfers, retention strategies, and compensation-related decision support
Coordinates with local HR and/or Finance Teams to prepare and submit required filings
Provides analysis and effective cost modelling to support budgeting and forecasting of compensation programs
Drives HR team capability by coaching them on administering the compensation job catalog, ensuring accurate Workday data, applying job grading frameworks and Mercer IPE methodologies, interpreting market insights, and embedding compensation best practices across their businesses
Analyzes survey results to prepare salary and merit recommendations by country and coordinates with compensation peers globally to ensure alignment
Partner closely with Total Rewards CoE to provide guidance to the regional HR community. May lead and/or supports organization compensation projects
Monitors compensation policies and procedures in the U.S., Canada and Mexico
Monitors compensation trends and regulations, staying abreast of applicable legislation in the U.S., Canada and Mexico
Prepares data analyses and reports as needed
Collaborates with auditors, legal teams, and finance partners to support compensation reporting and audit readiness
Performs other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Business or related field required
5+ years of experience in HR with at least 3 years focused in compensation, including base pay and incentive pay program administration. International and manufacturing experience a plus
Understanding of compensation practices and regulations in the U.S. Canada and Mexico
Strong ability to interpret and analyze complex compensation data with accuracy and attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in compensation software. Proficiency working with Workday or similar HRIS and PayFactors or similar platforms
Experience with salary administration, market pricing, job evaluation, and implementing compensation programs
Skilled at communicating and collaborating across all levels with poise and professionalism
Ability to manage confidential data, handle high-volume requests, and prioritize tasks
Preferred
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or classes toward CCP preferred
Spanish fluency preferred
Exposure to Power BI or similar data visualization tools a plus
