Tax Planning Associate/Senior Associate

McDonnell Capital Management is an independent SEC registered investment adviser dedicated to providing comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services. They are seeking a highly responsive Tax Planning Associate/Senior Associate to join their wealth management team, focusing on tax planning strategies and preparing tax returns for clients.

Investment Management

Responsibilities

Utilizes tax software to prepare and reviews individual and trust income tax returns, including multi-state returns
Ability to research different planning, investment, and tax issues
Stays up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law by conducting research and applying this knowledge to drive informed decision-making throughout the financial planning process
Assist tax planning and forecasting throughout the year; Senior Associate would have the opportunity to lead discussions during client meetings and reviews

Required

Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Two to four years of relevant work experience is preferred
Utilizes tax software to prepare and reviews individual and trust income tax returns, including multi-state returns
Ability to research different planning, investment, and tax issues
Stays up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law by conducting research and applying this knowledge to drive informed decision-making throughout the financial planning process
Assist tax planning and forecasting throughout the year; Senior Associate would have the opportunity to lead discussions during client meetings and reviews
This individual must possess excellent research abilities, and be able to apply current and changing tax laws and strategies to add value to the financial planning process
The applicant should have knowledge and/or interest in the financial planning industry, including personal finance, income taxes, investments, asset allocation and estate planning concepts
The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn other business-related software, in which training will be provided
This position requires the ability to work effectively on multiple deadline-oriented projects, especially during tax season (January-April)

Preferred

Applicants with CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) credentials are preferred, and/or a desire to obtain related professional designations
Experience with Excel formulas, tax software and related investment and/or research software is an advantage
