Senior Principal Software Engineer - Product Manager (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Lead an established software team to mature design and development of our next generation VLF transmitter
Collaborate with the customer, cross-functional engineering leads, system architects, and support services to enable an iterative spiral development through continuous feedback
Coordinate with Product Owners (POs) for the three Agile software sub-teams to update the multi-year Feature Roadmap through development, integration, test, and deployment
Facilitate discussions with the Software Architect and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to drive technical solutions to meet customer requirements as bound by the Security Classification Guide (SCG)
Own and update scope, schedule, budget, risks, and opportunities with the Cost Account Manager (CAM) using Earned Value (EV) techniques
Guide the development team in architectural best practices, modularity, code structure, and performance tradeoffs in real-time systems
Support software requirements and Unified Modeling Language (UML) design diagrams within a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool
Support development and integration of multi-threaded embedded software using C and C++ within a Real Time Operating System (RTOS)
Support integration and verification within our automated test framework
Support document updates to meet customer Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
Support bid activities for customer related Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Experience leading a software development team within an Agile methodology
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system decomposition, and interface control across disciplines
Experience with software lifecycle processes, configuration control, and change management in high-integrity development environments

Preferred

Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments
Experience in secure coding practices
Experience with hardware-software integration and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
Experience with development tool sets, including Jira, Git, Visual Studio Code, cmake
Experience with Qt framework and development tools to generate C++ and QML code
Experience with automated test frameworks, unit testing, and requirements traceability
