The Category Buyer will manage purchasing activities, ensure timely order execution, and build strong relationships with suppliers while supporting inventory management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Place accurate, compliant POs based on Category Manager direction and supplier strategies
Audit pricing, freight terms, lead times, and ship-from logic prior to placement
Monitor open orders, confirmations, and backorders to ensure timely delivery and follow-through
Convert demand signals and forecasts into purchasing actions while prioritizing existing stock and transfers
Support inventory turns, Days on Hand (DOH), cost improvement targets and Slow Moving Inventory (SMI) reduction
Proactively escalate risks regarding excess, slow-moving, or misaligned stock
Act as the primary professional contact for order execution and delivery coordination
Log and resolve supplier issues, including late shipments, damages, and packaging concerns
Communicate supplier constraints and identify potential innovations or insights to share with internal teams
Assist the Deal Desk with accurate sourcing, availability, and lead-time data for quotes
Partner with warehouse teams to resolve receiving, labeling, and storage discrepancies
Provide stakeholders with clear status updates and escalate exceptions outside established guardrails
Maintain precise records within NetStock and ensure clean documentation of all supplier communications
Adhere to established purchasing workflows, approval processes, and inventory policies
Participate in initiatives to enhance purchasing efficiency and execution quality

Required
