Scientist I/II, Lipid Nanoparticle Formulation
Typewriter Therapeutics is a genome engineering and next-generation gene therapy company. They are seeking a highly motivated and talented formulation Scientist I/II to be a key member of the LNP Delivery team, focusing on the design, optimization, and characterization of lipid nanoparticle formulations for mRNA delivery.
Responsibilities
Design and implement LNP screening and optimization work
Characterize product profiles for process optimization and batch-to-batch reproducibility
Develop Design of Experiment (DOE) principles for formulation screening and process development activities
Formulate samples for internal studies, ensuring timely and accurate transfer of materials
Collaborate with external CROs for sourcing, additional screening, scaling, and capability building
Maintain meticulous documentation of all experimental data, procedures, and protocols
Review and analyze data and be able to present and explain across the functional teams
Collaborate with a team of scientists to creatively solve problems and drive innovation
Maintain high standards for scientific integrity and accountability
Communicate across departments and support project teams
Qualification
Required
PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, pharmaceutics, or related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience, MS with at least 4 years of relevant industry experience, BS with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience
Hands on experience in nanoparticle formulation by microfluidic mixing or T-mixing
Hands on experience with DLS, HPLC, UV-Vis, plate-based fluorescence assays
Able to conduct self-directed research and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial setting with a diverse team of coworkers
Exceptional problem-solving skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, creativity, enthusiasm, and reliability
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and meticulous data documentation
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Flexibility to adapt to evolving project priorities in a dynamic environment
Scientifically curious, paired with a strong work ethic and grit
Open-minded, respectful of others, and a strong proponent of an inclusive culture
Embraces the lean start-up mentality and is willing to wear multiple hats
Preferred
Hands on experience in bioconjugation chemistry
Hands on experience with formulation scales supporting NHP studies
