Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC - The Reliable One) is an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, offering an internship program in the Operations Administration division. The Contracts & Finance Intern will assist the Contract, Finance & Project Management team with financial analysis, budget presentations, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

Assisting with monthly financial analysis, reporting activities, and preparation of recurring budget presentations to support department financial oversight

Supporting property damage billing processes and assisting with financial transaction corrections to ensure accuracy and compliance

Assisting in the development, tracking, and analysis of budget alignment metrics, including potential dashboard creation and reporting in Excel, potentially PowerBI

Supporting Contract Administrators by assisting with joint-use audits, billing activities, and the development of related tracking and performance metrics

Performing other related duties as assigned to support contracts, finance, and operational needs

Required

Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university

Academic status of Sophomore or above

Program of study: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application

Authorized to work in the United States

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint (intermediate to advanced Excel skills)

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Strong numerical skills, including calculating rates, ratios, and percentages

General knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles; fast learner eager to apply skills in a real-world setting

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail

Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently

Ability to prioritize and resolve issues under deadlines

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Proven ability to learn new skills quickly

Preferred

Previous internship experience

Experience with financial analysis, research, forecasting, and reporting; Power BI preferred
