Responsibilities
A role in Buying means working with several diverse vendors to choose the best product mix, both in-store and online
You will influence and negotiate with vendors to achieve results and identify gaps and opportunities
You will lead cross-functional teams to drive category results while managing progress toward sales and margin goals
Your partnerships with product designers and/or category mangers and vendors will help guide product development as you source appropriately for your category
You will lead Associate Buyers and Senior Merchandise Specialists; and interact with the Pricing and Promotion Center of Excellence, Planning, Site Merchandising, the Item Center of Excellence and many other expert partners in support of your promotional planning work across channels
Qualification
Required
Four-year degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of Merchandising experience with various product categories
Strong strategic and analytical skills to drive growth in a business
Strong collaboration skills to partner with a cross-functional team
Flexibility, resiliency and nimbleness; comfortable working in 'grey areas' that are constantly changing
