Responsibilities
Facilitate, direct, and solicit feedback during design reviews
Develop data collection efforts and oversee data analysis and synthesis using industry-standard techniques
Design and implement research studies, including developing methodologies and data collection instruments
Lead, plan, and execute field visits to shadow users in ethnographic states
Develop, prepare, and deliver research reports, presentations, and other research deliverables
Analyze research findings across products and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Maintain and advocate for the research repository
Strategize and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into decision-making processes
Lead and plan workshops using established workshop frameworks
Mentor researchers and provide guidance on research best practices
Actively contribute to team culture and research operations
Stay abreast of emerging trends and methodologies in the field of research
Qualification
Required
Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate strategic research objectives to stakeholders, IT partners, and design team members
Ability to communicate research results, graphically depict data, and justify methods and approaches both orally and in writing
Extensive knowledge of usability and user experience research tools and techniques (e.g., field research, heuristic reviews, benchmarking, card sorts, lo-fidelity prototyping methods, etc.)
Strong project management and negotiation skills
Strong moderation skills and methods for group facilitation and consensus building
Ability to work independently, in a team, and with or without direction
Related experience in fields such as human factors, interactive design, information architecture, and/or market research is a plus
Experience creating user personas and journey maps to support a user-centered design methodology
4+ years of research experience with multifaceted responsibilities
