Responsibilities
Review applications submitted for various life insurance products
Analyze applications according to company philosophy and procedures in order to make underwriting decisions
Effectively communicate with independent agents, Medical Director, and other Auto-Owners Associates, through verbal and/or written means
Become familiar with company policies, manuals, forms and endorsements in order to understand their meaning and effective application
Acquires a working knowledge of supporting sections of the life underwriting department
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent direct life insurance underwriting experience
Familiarity with a broad range of medical terminology
Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently
Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to resolve complex issues
An interest in developing product knowledge through participation in approved educational programs
The ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
Preferred
Health related fields of study are preferred
