Electrical Estimator
Construction Grad, LLC is a growing electrical contractor based in Southern California, and they are seeking an Electrical Estimator to manage the bid process for various projects. The role involves developing cost estimates, attending pre-bid meetings, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate pricing and project understanding.
Responsibilities
Manage the entire bid process from initial inquiry through final proposal submission for assigned electrical projects
Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits (virtual or in-person as required) to thoroughly understand project scope, conditions, and requirements
Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs from blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and other bid documents
Develop detailed material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities to ensure accurate and competitive pricing
Present estimates and proposals to internal teams and external clients
Maintain and update internal cost databases and historical project data
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders during the estimating phase
Qualification
Required
2-5 years' experience with an electrical contractor
Strong working knowledge of electrical installation means and methods, systems, components, and industry best practices
Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Accubid, LiveCount, ConEst, McCormick) and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to accurately read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple bids concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
