Equipment Handling/Shop Specialist

The Equipment Handling/Shop Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient movement and maintenance support of equipment and materials, ensuring a clean and organized working environment while assisting the Quality and Logistics team.

Responsibilities
Assist PDI Technicians in order to gain knowledge of the equipment
Learn how to complete a full Pre-Delivery Inspection on each model machine
Learn how to troubleshoot common problems found on machines in PDI
Prepare equipment for distribution, outgoing shipments, or tradeshows
Report malfunctioning or unsafe equipment to a supervisor and support repair coordination
Learn how to use our ERP and become familiar with PDI checklists and work orders. Manage equipment in the warehouse (receiving, tracking, shipping, inventory)
Set up machines and trailers for pre-delivery inspection for PDI
Move equipment around the warehouse and yard
Safely operate a variety of material-handling and lifting equipment such as class IV & V forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists. (if not certified, will train)
Obtain a 1C hoisting license to operate a telehandler (if not certified, will train)
Transport equipment and parts between warehouses and service locations
Assist in loading and unloading trucks, containers, or transport units
Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Maintain clean, organized operational spaces to reduce hazards
Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with yard and warehouse design, organization, and flow (shelves, racks, tools, etc), make suggestions for improvements
Ensure yard and warehouse are in compliance with safety requirements (OSHA 10, OSHA 30) and ensure yard and warehouse are neat and organized, maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the facility
Document all equipment before delivery
Involved in washing and/or performing light maintenance on equipment
Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization
Qualification
Required
DOT Medical card or be able to obtain
Driver's license with a clean record
Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety practices
General mechanical aptitude
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment
Must work with safety in mind at all times
Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time (7:00am-3:30pm)
Requires minimal supervision from management; typically a quick morning meeting to discuss the day's tasks and touch base throughout the day as needed
Preferred
OSHA 10, OSHA 30 preferred (will train)
Class IV and VII forklift experience (certification preferred or will train)
IPAF certified (will train)
CPR/ AED certification (will train)
Class 7 forklift (telehandler) certification (will train)
Familiarity with material handling and construction equipment
