Responsibilities
Design / develop components to be manufactured via plastic injection molding, stamping, machining, extrusion and related processes including concept development and prototyping
Create and interpret analyses to determine suitability of design concepts
Ensure on-time completion of Design Control deliverables via risk-based decision-making into the design process
Grow and maintain knowledge current with related technologies
Work with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure feasibility of designs
Translate VoC feedback into product requirements
Create and release engineering drawings, reports, and presentations
Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as required
Present technical findings or project status to cross functional teams and management through design reviews
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
This position is open only to US Citizens and Permanent Residents residing in the Memphis, TN metropolitan area
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and 0-3 years of experience in mechanical product development
Strong communication & presentation skills; both verbal and written
Talent to manage the needs and concerns of multiple stakeholders
Ability to travel 25% of the time both domestically and internationally
Skills in planning, organizing, and executing clearly defined objectives in a diverse and dynamic environment
Capability in executing plans under tight deadlines and time constraints
Highly proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Preferred
Experience working within a global supply chain structure is a plus
Experience in 3D modeling (SolidWorks or equivalent) preferred
