Responsibilities
Lead engineering support for substation equipment replacements and upgrades, including breakers, switches, transformers, relays, bushings, and arresters
Perform field troubleshooting and site assessments at operating substations
Define project scope and develop work packages for maintenance and corrective activities
Initiate projects and coordinate material requisitions
Develop and adjust designs as needed for brownfield environments (no greenfield design work)
Coordinate with construction and field crews to execute work safely and efficiently
Manage schedules, track progress, and support timely completion of work
Communicate status, risks, and updates to all relevant stakeholders
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Willingness to perform regular field work at substations
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in brownfield environments
Effective communication skills, especially with field and construction teams
Preferred
Substation equipment knowledge and field troubleshooting experience
Familiarity with brownfield replacement and maintenance workflows
Experience initiating projects and ordering materials
Experience with SAP and ProjectWise
Basic PLC or logic programming familiarity
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred for senior-level candidates
Minnesota PE strongly preferred
Wisconsin PE also valued
Electrical engineering: 2 years (Preferred)
