Human Resources Director

Call Quest Solution is a growing, unionized manufacturing operation seeking an HR Director to lead their human resources strategy. This role involves serving as the primary liaison between leadership and union representatives while overseeing employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning initiatives in a 24/7 production environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison between management and union leadership
Lead grievance investigations, disciplinary actions, and arbitration processes
Support labor contract negotiations and labor relations strategy
Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace culture
Provide coaching and guidance to leaders, supervisors, and employees
Conduct employee investigations and resolve concerns fairly and timely
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention for hourly and salaried roles
Partner with operations to support staffing needs for 24/7 production
Lead performance management, succession planning, and employee development
Direct and mentor a team of three HR professionals
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA)
Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and analytics
Lead safety and wellness initiatives in partnership with EHS
Monitor HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, engagement) and recommend improvements
Drive change management and continuous improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong union labor relations experience (contract interpretation, grievances, arbitration)
Prior leadership experience managing HR teams
Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits, compliance, and talent development
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills
Hands-on, approachable leadership style with a strong sense of urgency

Preferred

Experience in paper, pulp, or heavy manufacturing
