Responsibilities

Perform all Supply Chain Associate (Levels 1 and 2) job functions and responsibilities at an advanced level while serving as a mentor/preceptor to the staff
Exhibit exceptional leadership by example while working alongside the Supply Chain Associates
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and application of Inventory Management practices
Identify and implement department improvements, including safety protocols, process flows, shelf spacing optimization, scheduling, FIFO rotations, cleaning schedules, and metric analysis
Track daily output and staff performance; report on product outages and increased utilization
Work closely with nursing floors/OR staff to perform all PAR maintenance functions, including making adjustments as needed with assistance from the Supply Chain Management Information Systems (SCMIS) team
Manage employee job functions and schedule shifts to meet daily departmental demands
Work with little or no supervision from the manager
Plan and schedule the work of stockroom, warehouse, and receiving/dock personnel, ensuring proper distribution of assignments, adequate staffing, space, and facilities for the performance of tasks
Maximize employee efficiencies across all shifts and schedules
Manage the attendance of assigned staff, including documenting tardiness and PTO in the API system
Direct assigned staff in the attainment of performance standards and evaluate performance; provide input regarding performance evaluations, hiring, and related personnel actions
Meet regularly with department personnel, supply chain leadership, and customers to resolve issues of concern
Assist with the development and management of EJRs and assist with the performance reviews of assigned staff
Provide corrective action when necessary
Serve in a preceptor role by coaching, teaching, and mentoring new employees
Lead all day-to-day supply chain functions in the assigned area of responsibility, which may include receiving/dock, JIT/LUM inventory for Pyxis stations, PAR areas, warehouse, STAT room, and procedural areas
Coordinate with Procurement to address backorders and manage appropriate actions and communication with the customer
Coordinate with Procurement to keep staff and customers informed of the status of product conversions
Review storage locations to ensure the proper rotation of time-sensitive items and proper location accuracy
Lead the handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring appropriate entry of Goods Receipts and verification of merchandise
Review shortages, overstock of merchandise, and damaged goods; resolve issues when possible
Proactively inform management of supply and/or customer issues that cannot be resolved at the supervisory level
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinical staff and external customers to promote efficient patient care
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to supply chain functions, acting as the single point of contact for customers' supply chain needs
Review MRP orders to assure appropriate inventory levels are maintained and replenished
Must be able and willing to perform additional job functions (within reason) that are necessary to ensure safe patient care practices as directed by supply chain management

Required

High School Diploma or GED
At least 3 years of experience in distribution, warehousing, shipping, receiving, logistics, material handling, customer service, inventory control, or a comparable service line
Valid Driver's License may be required
Must have the ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force daily to push/pull unloaded and loaded supply carts
Reaching, lifting, stooping, and bending are frequent in daily duties
Ability to introduce change and implement new programs
Possess a sense of urgency and a proactive, customer-based philosophy
Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to foster and build relationships
Ability to be sensitive to the needs of customers through the practice of quality service principles
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Possess knowledge of automated materials management functions

Preferred

Postsecondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience leading, supervising, and/or mentoring staff
