Responsibilities
Enable data as a product by guiding data owners and product owners with onboarding, coaching, and governance roadmaps
Lead our Data Governance program by defining policies, standards, and best practices that ensure high-quality, compliant, and secure data
Build the governance operating model by establishing roles, decision rights, and escalation paths
Partner across the business and IT to monitor data quality, resolve issues, and support regulatory requirements (NCUA, CCPA)
Own metadata and master data integrity by working with data engineering and stewards to enforce documentation and standards
Empower teams with tools and knowledge by supporting business glossaries, data catalogs, and CCU’s data governance platform
Promote a data-driven culture through workshops, training, newsletters, dashboards, and success stories
Evaluate and implement governance tools by partnering with IT and procurement on vendor selection, ROI, and integrations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles
Experience with data enterprise warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks and tools like Coalesce
Strong collaboration, communication, and change-leadership skills
A passion for making data understandable, usable, and trusted
Strong problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills
Local Northern IL/Southeast WI candidates only
Preferred
Master's degree in a related field
CDMP certification
2+ years of experience in a credit union or financial institution
7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
