Responsibilities
Overseeing the maintenance and security of local office networks, servers, and hardware (laptops, workstations, and peripherals)
Leading and mentoring a small team of IT support specialists to ensure high-quality internal customer service
Managing the office IT budget, including the procurement of hardware, software licenses, and vendor contract negotiations
Developing and enforcing office-wide IT policies, including data security protocols and disaster recovery plans
Collaborating with the Sr. Director of Engineering to align IT infrastructure with the specific technical needs of the rail engineering teams
Proactively identifying vulnerabilities in the current system and implementing upgrades or automated solutions to improve efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
5-8 years of experience in IT management or senior systems administration
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and modern cybersecurity tools
Proven experience managing IT budgets and third-party vendor relationships
Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff and senior leadership
Preferred
San Diego resident
Experience in IT infrastructure management, systems administration, and team leadership within a corporate office environment
