This role focuses on the design, operations, and governance of the organization's Databricks and Azure-based data platform, with responsibilities including platform administration, access control, and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities
Experience designing, configuring, and maintaining Databricks clusters and workspaces
Ability to manage compute resources, cluster tags, workflow tags, and naming conventions
Knowledge of best practices, cluster health checks, monitoring, and performance optimization
Experience automating admin tasks using Databricks notebooks or scripts
Understanding of SQL warehouses, Delta Sharing, and service principals
Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure required to support Databricks
Experience integrating Databricks with Azure resources securely
Ability to perform risk analysis for third-party integrations
Familiarity with backup/recovery processes in cloud environments
Understanding differences between Azure, AWS, and GCP
Ability to use Databricks APIs (Postman, automation scripts, custom integrations)
Knowledge of API-based authentication models (PATs, service principals, tokens)
Understanding of how APIs support automation, provisioning, monitoring, and governance
Understanding of how permissions work across catalogs, schemas, tables, and volumes
Ability to manage role-based access control and oversee privilege reviews
Experience implementing and enforcing data access governance policies
Knowledge of external access control patterns (service principals, SQL warehouses)

Associate: 3–5 years of relevant data/cloud engineering or platform experience
Deeper experience with Databricks administration and Azure architecture
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Ability to create dashboards and monitoring queries for critical systems
Experience maintaining documentation and supporting users
Strong communication and teamwork skills, including working cross-functionally
Preferred
Power BI exposure (dashboards, reporting)
Azure Data Factory (pipelines, integration runtimes)
Experience with GitHub for source code management
Strong SQL skills for admin queries and dashboards
Familiarity with Dynatrace (monitoring/observability)
Experience supporting compliance audits or audit documentation
Spark, Python proficiency (beneficial for notebooks & automation)
Bachelor's degree preferred but experience may substitute
Databricks Platform Administration certification preferred
