Middle School Orchestra Teacher

Brilla Schools is a growing K-8 network in the Bronx dedicated to forming students of strong wisdom and virtue. The Middle School Orchestra Teacher is responsible for cultivating a safe and engaging learning environment for students in grades five through eight, focusing on developing their skills and appreciation for the arts.

Education Management

Responsibilities

Foster an inviting, growth-oriented classroom environment for academic and character formation, supporting holistic student growth
Plan lessons that are classically inspired, inquiry-based, rigorous, and aligned with the scope and sequence and relevant standards; Implement innovative teaching strategies that inspire curiosity and resonate with diverse learners
Plan and execute quarterly school-wide showcase that exhibits the artistic achievements of all students 5-8
Cultivate higher-order thinking skills in students, enhancing their abilities to analyze, create, synthesize, and evaluate
Utilize relevant student data to strengthen student achievement and growth through targeted interventions and personalized instruction
Develop strong student and family connections, fostering a passion for learning and exceptional success
Foster productive relationships with colleagues, parents, and the community while engaging in ongoing collaborative professional development, reflecting on student achievement, and efficiently managing time for impactful teaching and learning
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

A relentless dedication to providing all students with an academically robust, inspiring, and joyful learning experience
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution, preferably within the content area
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Possession of current teaching certification as a middle school and/or content teacher

Preferred

Relevant urban, middle school teaching experience with demonstrated student results
Special Education credential and experience
Spanish language proficiency
