Legal Assistant
SeeKing HR is a small firm seeking a Legal Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support in civil litigation practice areas. The role involves preparing legal documents, managing litigation dockets, and assisting with trial preparation and electronic filing.

Responsibilities
Assists in legal document preparation, including initiating drafts of various types of documents, and correspondence, revising draft documents, formatting, proof-reading, redlining, assembly of exhibits, and preparation of final documents for filing and service
Assists in preparation of discovery requests and objections and responses to written discovery, including redactions and bates-numbering
Coordinate with outside service providers, including scheduling depositions and mediations and securing third-party records
Electronic filing in state and federal courts and with government agencies, including Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Texas Workforce Commission
Assist with trial preparation, including organizing files, preparing trial notebooks, preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses and subpoenas, interacting with court staff, and arranging technology
Interactions with opposing counsel’s staff regarding scheduling, transmittal of documents, hearings, depositions, and mediation
Interactions with district clerk and court staff regarding hearings, proposed orders, and filings
Interface with client file management and document sharing platform
General administrative assistance as requested in support of litigation attorneys
Conducts attorney time entry and finalizing client billing
Handles calendaring, including calculation of deadlines
Performs general clerical work, including word-processing, file organization, phone, mail, and message management
Acts professionally in client interactions and capable of multi-tasking
Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
10+ years of legal experience in a law firm setting
Knowledge of MS Office Programs including Word and Excel, File Share, Timeslips, NetDocuments, and Workshare software
Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable MVR and background check
Preferred
Prior experience supporting civil litigation attorneys in a small or mid-size law firm environment
Advanced proficiency in legal drafting and document management, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial exhibits
