They are seeking a Dean of Students who will support teachers in implementing behavior incentive systems and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage behavioral suspensions
Implement programs to develop student character and discipline in line with District standards
Advise parents on student behavior matters and effective discipline programs
Create and oversee student intervention plans
Coordinate and lead various student programs and activities, ensuring adherence to District policies
Collect and analyze data related to student behavior, attendance, and academic outcomes
Communicate with parents, teachers, school leaders, and other school stakeholders about student discipline related incidences
Stay up-to-date with relevant policies and research regarding school accountability, student achievement, and student engagement strategies
Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Qualification

Valid Michigan Teacher CertificateTeachingCounseling experienceMaster's Degree in Educational LeadershipUrban school experienceAlignment with missionValues

Required

Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate (or eligible to receive one based on Bachelor's degree in education)
Previous teaching or counseling experience
Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred

Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field
Five or more years of successful teaching or counseling experience in an urban school setting
