Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure their operational efficiency
Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security
Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues or bottlenecks
Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization
Implement security measures in line with compliance standards and best practices
Work with software developers to optimize queries and improve database design
Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL
Proficiency in writing complex shell scripting for automation
Qualification
Required
5-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration
In-depth knowledge of MySQL versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4
Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure their operational efficiency
Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security
Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues or bottlenecks
Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization
Implement security measures in line with compliance standards and best practices
Work with software developers to optimize queries and improve database design
Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL
Proficiency in writing complex shell scripting for automation
Good communication skills with both technical and management teams
Preferred
Expertise in all major versions of MySQL including Oracle and MariaDB
Expertise of maintenance/patching mechanics
Experience in database security auditing and compliance
Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform tools for database deployment automation
Hands on Linux and Windows system administration experience is a plus
MySQL and Cloud certifications are preferred
Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management procedures
