IT Specialist I
NEOGOV is seeking an IT Specialist I to provide basic technical support to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. The role involves assisting in desktop management, service management, quality assurance, and incident management under the supervision of an IT Supervisor.

Responsibilities
Provides basic technical support to the Agency
Works under the direction of upper-level team members with minimal latitude for individual initiative
Requires basic proficiency in desktop management, service management, quality assurance, or incident management
Reports to an IT Supervisor
Ability to resolve basic technology problems that have been reported
Ability to execute and complete basic tasks and work assignments based on defined service levels, in a timely manner
Ability to communicate with agency employees and/or team members regarding technology issues or requirements
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of citizens or employees of an organization
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Must have intermediate computer skills in one of the following areas: Office Products, Desktop Operating Systems, Service Management, or Client device support
Must have the ability to use creative and original thinking
Must have the ability to distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information in order to make logical decisions
Must have the ability to take ownership of assignments
Ability to focus and complete assignments in a timely manner
Qualification
Required
At least 18 years of age
Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English
U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
Clean criminal history: any arrest history will be individually evaluated
No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) AND one (1) year of IT service desk support experience
Must have a valid Florida driver's license
Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving an agency vehicle. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver's physical exam
Depending on assignment, may be required to be FCIC/NCIC certified within one (1) year of accepting position
