This role is responsible for developing accurate project budgets, collaborating with internal teams and trade partners, and supporting the preconstruction process across a wide range of commercial projects.

Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Develop trade scopes of work based on plans and specifications
Perform quantity takeoffs and conceptual budgeting using historical data
Analyze subcontractor proposals for scope coverage, accuracy, and alignment with project plans
Prepare and manage RFIs and communicate with architects, engineers, and consultants
Collaborate with project management and preconstruction teams to support bid strategy and pricing decisions
Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
Qualification
Required
Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Proficiency with Excel for estimating and cost analysis
Experience scoping construction trades across commercial projects
Knowledge of construction cost structures, schedules, and sequencing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2 years of estimating or preconstruction experience preferred
Preferred
Experience with On-Screen Takeoff or similar takeoff software
Familiarity with Microsoft Project
Knowledge of local subcontractors, vendors, and pricing trends
Experience supporting commercial general contractor projects
