Responsibilities

Materials and test engineering support to production and R&D efforts
Design engineering efforts, e.g., drawing reviews, design reviews, misc. engineering meeting support, data analysis, and report authoring
Mechanical testing of materials for production
Metallography of steels and non-metallics
Weld engineering support
Failure analysis investigations
Chemical and performance evaluations evaluation of organics materials
Evaluations of supplier materials

Required

Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026
Be majoring in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
Experience and/or coursework related to metallurgical engineering
Experience and/or coursework related to alloys and adhesives
Navy or other military experience
Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
