Director of Grant Development
The Nagler Group is seeking a Director of Grant Development to lead and manage all aspects of the organization’s development and fundraising efforts. This role involves overseeing development activities, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements while building and maintaining relationships with donors and funders.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee all development activities, strategy, and goal setting
Supervise development staff and manage department workflows
Evaluate priorities, manage risk, and make timely, informed decisions
Build and maintain systems, processes, and performance tracking
Partner with program, clinical, finance, data, executive, and administrative teams
Work with Communications/Marketing on digital fundraising strategy
Coordinate with internal project champions to meet funder requirements
Support budget development with finance staff
Ensure grant funds are spent in compliance with funder requirements
Oversee financial reporting, invoices, amendments, and submissions to funders
Lead internal grant planning and reporting processes
Manage development and grants management software
Maintain complete and accurate records of all development activities
Prepare regular progress reports for leadership and the Board
Research and identify foundation, corporate, government, and individual funding opportunities
Build and manage relationships with donors, funders, and partners
Monitor funding trends, legislation, and public grant opportunities
Oversee and contribute to grant proposals, reports, and fundraising materials
Provide writing and editing support across departments
Ensure timely submission of proposals and required documentation
Manage regulatory submissions (e.g., UDS, FTCA, SAM)
Support audits, site visits, and funder reviews
Stay current on grant regulations and compliance requirements
Maintain communication with government and funder contacts
Support planning and promotion of fundraising events and campaigns
Help recruit sponsors and maintain donor relationships
Participate in evaluation and improvement of fundraising efforts
Oversee donor acknowledgement, tracking, and stewardship processes
Maintain accurate gift and grant records
Represent the organization at events, meetings, and site visits
Qualification
Required
Strong grant writing and written communication skills required
Strong Excel skills required
Preferred
Healthcare and/or nonprofit experience highly preferred
Bachelor's degree highly preferred
