Responsibilities
Manages, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Additional responsibilities include maintaining overall tools and processes, supporting ongoing process improvements via CMMI and Scaled Agile, coordinating software customer interface, and supporting avionics architecture development
Qualification
Required
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
10+ years' experience in Software Engineering
3+ years' experience in a leadership or management role
1+ years of experience as a first line manager
Preferred
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Advanced degree in engineering, AI, data science, or related field
Experience in software product life cycles specific to aviation and aerospace systems, from proposal through fielding
