Responsibilities
Perform security engineering activities to support and sustain existing Managed Services clients
Support the onboarding of new clients, ensuring environments meet security and operational standards
Conduct and analyze daily security and system health checks
Troubleshoot and resolve security, system, and network-related issues across client environments
Plan, implement, and maintain security controls to protect systems, networks, and data
Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents, and anomalies; document findings and remediation actions
Provide Tier II support to Security Analysts and Cyber Defense teams
Coordinate with enterprise-wide cyber defense personnel to resolve incidents efficiently
Analyze and document security risks, vulnerabilities, and breaches, and recommend corrective actions
Develop and maintain security documentation, runbooks, and internal knowledge base content
Assist in developing and testing incident response and disaster recovery plans
Collaborate with internal teams to perform security testing and identify system weaknesses
Regularly engage with clients to align on security objectives and engineering priorities
Maintain required industry and vendor certifications
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and security best practices
Stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats, tools, technologies, and standards
Perform additional duties as assigned by Engineering or Security Leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
OR equivalent professional experience with relevant industry certifications
2+ years of experience in Information Technology, Security Engineering, or Cyber Defense
Strong experience with SIEM platforms, including: Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk Cloud
Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows environments
Ability to administer and troubleshoot Linux systems using the command line (CLI)
Solid understanding of: Core cybersecurity concepts and controls, Networking fundamentals and TCP/IP, Interconnected systems and infrastructure dependencies
Experience monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events
Strong documentation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
Experience with CrowdStrike EDR, CrowdStrike Spotlight, or Tenable
Familiarity with security tools and technologies: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, encryption, vulnerability scanners
Knowledge of security frameworks and standards: NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, or similar
Experience hardening operating systems, applications, and services
Understanding of: VPNs, DMZs, access control, MFA, authentication, and content filtering
Experience with scripting or automation (Shell, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
Industry certifications such as: CISSP, CCNA, GSEC, CEH, CISM, OSCP (preferred)
Demonstrated proactive mindset toward cybersecurity and customer service
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
