Lead Software Developer – Java Applications
FedTec is seeking a Lead Software Developer specializing in Java Applications. The role involves leading the design and delivery of APIs, microservices, and enterprise-level software solutions, while providing guidance on best practices and coding standards.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, coding, testing, and deployment of enterprise-level applications
Develop APIs, integrations, and front-end/back-end services
Lead design, development, and prototyping of APIs and microservices using API-first principles
Adhere to IRS API lifecycle management best practices, including design-first, discovery, versioning, and governance
Follow IRS standardization, reusability, and interoperability principles
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API contract designs
Integrate API-first strategies with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows
Develop common services for legacy data access
Ensure robust API testing using JUnit, SoapUI, and JMeter
Write and maintain detailed API documentation in approved IRS repositories
Monitor API performance and implement continuous improvements
Deploy APIs on container platforms or GovCloud
Provide guidance on best practices and coding standards
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards
Mentor junior developers and support team technical growth
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
15+ years of software development experience
Proven experience serving as a technical lead for Java application delivery and integration
Lead the design, coding, testing, and deployment of enterprise-level applications
Develop APIs, integrations, and front-end/back-end services
Lead design, development, and prototyping of APIs and microservices using API-first principles
Adhere to IRS API lifecycle management best practices, including design-first, discovery, versioning, and governance
