They are seeking an Engagement and Public Policy Intern who will assist in developing communication materials and conducting research on sustainability and public policy matters.

Responsibilities
Assists the team in the development of communication materials such as the Sustainability Report
Assists with the completion of sustainability, governance and similar questionnaires for scoring agencies
Researches and performs peer analyses on sustainability, shareholder engagement and public policy matters
Researches and performs analysis of post-proxy season voting
Interacts and works with the investor relations, advertising and communications, legal, environmental, strategic planning and human resources teams
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate or a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or Business Administration required
Graduation date between August 2026 to May 2028 required
Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer required
Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation required
Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications required
This is an onsite, in-person internship at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio required
Preferred
Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred
