Contract Manager

Parsons is anticipating the need for a Contracts Manager to join their team and support a complex infrastructure project. In this role, you will manage all pre- and post-contract activities, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and monitoring contractor performance.

Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, from pre-award support to administration, completion, and final assessment, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions
Lead contract negotiations, review draft contracts, and provide guidance to project teams, legal, technical, and financial advisors
Oversee contractor and consultant performance management, including KPIs, incentive schedules, compensation events, and performance improvement plans
Establish and implement contract management strategies, frameworks, and best practices across the project
Mentor and lead a team of Contract Administrators, fostering collaboration across project teams and stakeholders
Monitor and report on financial, schedule, and contractual risks, including claims management, delay damages assessments, and mitigation strategies
Support governance, tendering, and evaluation processes, ensuring compliance with contract and procurement standards
Provide assurance on RFIs, RFTs, and contract documentation, including conditions and amendments
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve contractual issues and drive alignment across project delivery
Identify, assess, and manage contractual risks and disputes, providing recommendations and solutions to senior leadership
Support effective communication and coordination between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met

Required

10+ years' experience in contract management, including at least 5 years managing complex contracts, preferably within NEC contracts
Minimum Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area, e.g., engineering, project management, quantity surveying, law, or commercial management
Proven experience in high-value infrastructure projects, with knowledge of contractor and consultant performance management frameworks
Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
Experience in claims management, compensation events, and establishing KPIs for contractors/consultants
Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to mentor teams and drive best practices
Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, including dispute resolution
Skilled in cross-functional collaboration to support integrated project delivery

Preferred

Level 9 Masters in a relevant field (engineering, project management, law, or quantity surveying) desirable
Professional certifications such as NEC Registered, Chartered status with SCSI/RICS, IEI, ICE, or equivalent
Experience with contract management software such as CEMAR or Unifier
