Administrative Assistant/Social Media Coordinator
Worcester Music Academy is seeking a dynamic and professional individual to join their team as an Administrative Assistant and Social Media Coordinator. The role involves scheduling lessons, managing social media channels, and providing customer service to students and parents.
Responsibilities
Scheduling lessons for students, which includes but is not limited to:
Answering the phone and returning phone calls
Collecting payments
Sending email/text confirmations and reminders
Creating calendar entries for lessons
Maintaining teacher and student records
Monitoring door and checking in students for lessons
Checking and replying to WMA general email
Sales and customer service for current and prospective students/parents (greeting students, explaining policies and procedures, asking and answering questions, providing tours of the school, etc.)
Opening/closing the school (involves daily and weekly cleaning/disinfecting and taking out garbage)
Maintaining supplies (cleaning, office, marketing, etc.)
Creating content for and managing social media channels and newsletter (Taking pictures/videos around the school, creating fliers on Canva, writing captions for posts, etc.)
Recording classes and workshops on Zoom
Communicating with the Director to discuss plans for the Academy’s and students’ success
Report completed tasks to the Director via Google Docs
Event setup, cleanup, and supervision
Qualification
Required
Must be reliable, responsible, and professional
Must have good people skills and enjoy being around children
Should have working knowledge of technology and software (computer skills, landline phone skills, picture/video taking/editing, Google Drive platform, Zoom, Canva, etc.)
Must have strong social media skills (understanding the various platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky)
Must be organized, detail-oriented, have strong time management skills, have the ability to multitask, and be able to work independently
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must pass CORI and be legally allowed to work in the US
High school diploma or equivalency required; bachelor's degree a plus
References required
Preferred
Music background a plus, but not required
Prior experience working with children in an educational setting or in an administrative capacity a plus
Spanish speaking skills a plus
