As the Head of Recruiting, you will lead the technical talent strategy, focusing on sourcing and closing top-tier forward-deployed AI engineers and building the recruiting function to support rapid growth.

Responsibilities
Own full-cycle recruiting for forward-deployed AI engineering roles (and eventually broader technical hires as we scale)
Develop and execute aggressive sourcing strategies: LinkedIn outbound, Boolean/X-ray searches, GitHub/repo mining, AI/tech conference networking, referrals, and direct headhunting from high-velocity technical environments
Partner closely with engineering leadership (including me) to deeply understand role requirements, technical bar, and cultural fit, then translate that into compelling job narratives and targeted pipelines
Build and refine our employer brand in the Austin tech scene: craft job postings, candidate experience, interview processes, and employer value prop that attracts "hardcore" builders who ship production agentic systems
Manage end-to-end process: screen resumes, conduct initial calls, coordinate technical interviews, negotiate offers, and close candidates in a competitive market
Track metrics, optimize funnels, and iterate—aim for speed-to-hire without compromising quality
Scale the function: hire and mentor future recruiters as volume grows
Qualification
Required
5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a proven track record of sourcing and closing senior software/AI/ML engineers in competitive, fast-moving markets
Deep familiarity with Austin's tech ecosystem and networks in AI, agentic systems, or client-facing/implementation-heavy engineering roles
Hands-on experience recruiting for embedded, client-facing engineering positions where candidates must code production solutions, handle ambiguity, and drive business outcomes directly with stakeholders
Strong sourcing toolkit: LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean logic, ATS (e.g., Greenhouse/Lever), and creative outbound tactics (e.g., personalized messaging highlighting agentic/multi-agent exp)
Ability to speak the language of hardcore engineers - understand agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, Grok API/xAI tooling, Python/LLM stacks, etc., enough to screen effectively, build credibility, and evaluate technical depth
Bias for action, comfort in ambiguity, and startup hustle - we're moving fast and need someone who can own outcomes
