Responsibilities
Inspect construction activities for compliance with approved Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), erosion and sediment control plans, and environmental permits
Monitor contractor compliance with environmental protection measures, including waterways, wetlands, and disturbed areas
Identify and report environmental incidents, deficiencies, or non-compliant conditions immediately
Prepare daily environmental inspection reports and documentation using required USDA Forest Service forms
Coordinate with the COR, CO, and engineering staff regarding environmental issues and corrective actions
Verify proper implementation of mitigation measures and restoration activities
Attend site meetings and safety briefings as required
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3–5 years of environmental inspection experience on infrastructure or linear construction projects
Experience with stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and environmental compliance inspections
Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations applicable to construction projects
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
