Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment, with a focus on CAT equipment
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs in accordance with service standards
Utilize diagnostic software and technical documentation to identify and resolve issues
Plan and execute efficient repair procedures to meet or exceed labor guidelines
Document all troubleshooting steps, repairs performed, and service communications accurately
Efficiently use tools, parts, and technical resources to minimize downtime and cost
Communicate repair status, findings, and recommendations with supervisors
Follow all safety policies and participate in required safety meetings, audits, and training
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with contamination control initiatives

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy construction equipment
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills
Computer proficiency to run diagnostic software and prepare service documentation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., work in physically demanding environments, and perform tasks requiring climbing, kneeling, crawling, and extended reaching
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while wearing required PPE

Preferred

Technical or vocational training in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics
CAT equipment experience
CDL license
