Responsibilities
Gap Analysis: Review existing documentation against compliance frameworks to identify missing policies or insufficient evidence
Documentation: Create work products related to audit
Evidence Collection: Work with Engineering and IT to document technical "proof of control" (e.g., screenshots, logs, or workflows) required by auditors
Audit Liaison: Act as a documentation lead during the audit process, quickly responding to auditor requests for clarification or additional paperwork at the direction of requirement owners and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
3+ years of technical writing, specifically within Utilities, Energy, or highly regulated industrial sectors
Understanding of the NERC CIP Reliability Standards
Proven ability to write 'The Story of Compliance'—connecting a policy (what we said we'd do) to a procedure (how we do it) to evidence (proof we did it)
Proficiency in document management systems and advanced Microsoft Word/Excel skills
Direct experience participating in or preparing for an external audit
Ability to manage the documentation timeline to meet hard audit deadlines
