Human Resources Director

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary liaison between management and union representatives
Lead grievance handling, investigations, disciplinary actions, and arbitration support
Support collective bargaining preparation and labor strategy execution
Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements consistently and fairly
Coach supervisors and managers on performance management, policy application, and employee relations
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture
Lead and develop HR team members (HR Director role)
Support change initiatives through effective communication and collaboration
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning
Support performance management, succession planning, and employee development programs
Partner with operations to ensure staffing aligns with production needs
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.)
Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and documentation
Partner with EHS teams to support safety, wellness, and health initiatives
Track and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and engagement
Support continuous improvement initiatives within HR and plant operations
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience

Required

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (for HR Director)
Strong background in union labor relations and grievance management (for HR Director)
5+ years of HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (for HR Manager)
Hands-on experience supporting unionized workforces (for HR Manager)
Broad HR generalist knowledge (employee relations, compliance, talent management, benefits)
Strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
