2026 Intern - Raytheon Mechanical Engineer - Onsite

RTX, also known as Raytheon, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern to join their Mechanical Engineering group in the Shipboard Effectors Department. The intern will be involved in detailed design and drafting work, cross-functional coordination to mature designs, and support of hardware procurement and testing.

Responsibilities

Detailed design and drafting work per ASME Y14.5
Design of structures, assemblies, and some mechanisms
Cross-functional coordination to rapidly mature designs
Support of development hardware procurement and testing
Management of suppliers/subcontractors
Support of factory hardware issues

Required

Pursuing a Bachelors or (higher) degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Graduate by the start of Summer 2026
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Preferred

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
Experience with Windchill and configuration management
