Responsibilities

Following the protocols that are in place as well as administering contrast material, explaining the procedure and answering any and all questions or concerns of the patient
Operates the CT and X-ray equipment by setting controls and making any required adjustments to procure required images
Solves problems as they arise during patient exams
Performs and positions the patients for CT and X-ray exams according to the department's standard procedures
Practices radiation safety to both the patient and co-workers
Performs QA and other job-related duties such as cleaning and re-stocking of the area
Follows all office policies/procedure, HIPAA, ACR and NYS DOH requirements
Demonstrates knowledge of Radiology operating systems such as PACS, EMR, RIS
Reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate person
Performs other duties as required

Required

Associates Degree in Medical Radiography or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
NYS License and Registration (ARRT) required or eligible
Certificate of Contrast Injections or eligible
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required
Follows all office policies/procedure, HIPAA, ACR and NYS DOH requirements
Demonstrates knowledge of Radiology operating systems such as PACS, EMR, RIS
Reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate person
Performs other duties as required
