Responsibilities
Field Service: Travel to customer vessels for equipment repairs, large-scale installations, wiring termination, integration, and commissioning
Technical Support: Provide expert assistance via phone and email for our commercial product line
Training: Conduct and assist with training for dealers and employees on deep-sea products
Problem Solving: Re-create field problems in-house to determine resolutions and prepare detailed trip reports to improve product performance
Specialized Compliance: Review VDR Annual Performance Tests and issue VDR Certificates of Compliance
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree (or equivalent training/experience) specializing in electronic theory or engineering
Must possess (or be able to obtain) an FCC license with radar endorsement and GMDSS maintainer endorsements
Must hold a valid Federal TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card), a valid driver's license, and a valid passport
Must be physically fit and comfortable carrying up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders/masts in various weather conditions
To comply with federal regulations and the specific requirements of this role, Furuno USA, Inc. is only considering candidates who are currently eligible to work in the United States
Preferred
Experience as a Marine Electronic Technician in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines is a significant plus
