Responsibilities
Define and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices for Appian and workflow platforms
Lead end-to-end Appian solution architecture ensuring scalability, security, and reusability
Partner with application architects to modernize workflows for payment integrity and client-facing processes
Evaluate use cases for Appian vs. custom development and guide technology decisions
Contribute to and support the Appian CoE, including governance, performance tuning, and reusable components
Design and integrate workflows using REST APIs, SSO, RBAC, and enterprise integration patterns
Support Appian CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated testing
Participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) and SAFe PI Planning
Mentor developers, conduct code/design reviews, and promote engineering best practices
Influence strategic roadmaps and enterprise architecture decisions
Qualification
Required
10+ years of application development and architecture experience
3+ years hands-on Appian architecture and development in production
Strong expertise in Appian Expression Language (AEL) and Appian UX design
Experience with RDBMS design, performance tuning, and caching strategies
Proficiency in REST integrations, security best practices, and workflow orchestration
Familiarity with Appian RPA, Data Fabric, plugins, and DevOps toolchain
Strong understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred
Appian Senior Developer certification or higher
Experience with additional workflow platforms (Camunda, JBPM, Drools, PowerFlow)
Background in Healthcare IT or payment integrity solutions
Experience establishing or contributing to an Appian CoE
