The State of Florida is responsible for licensing and regulating various businesses and professionals. The Investigation Specialist II role involves analyzing and investigating complaints related to alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules.

Responsibilities
Conducts investigations regarding a wide range of complex issues, in accordance with the Bureau of Compliance procedures, to determine compliance with the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code, pursuant to chapters 718, 719, 721, Florida Statutes
Analyze and review complaints to determine if sufficient evidence was provided to move forward with an investigation, prepare investigative memos/reports, interview witnesses, gather evidence
Conducts authorized travel and maintains investigative files
Requires consistent, timely, and precise updates and responses in either written or telephonic communication with complainants and subjects regarding complaints, updates, and inquiries submitted to the Division regarding cases, the Division program area, or any other types of inquiries assigned
Performs other related duties and assignments as required, including, but not limited to, learning and maintaining a general knowledge of Departmental and other related state agencies’ functions to initiate referrals of appropriate complaints to the applicable Departmental Division or state agency, as needed
Qualification
Required
One year of investigative experience
One year of experience in researching and analyzing statutory issues
Valid Florida Driver License
Case and non-related case Travel
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of investigative techniques
Ability to read, interpret and apply statutes and administrative rules to specific fact scenarios
Ability to conduct fact-finding interviews and take statements
Ability to collect and analyze evidence
Ability to conduct thorough investigations
Ability to write accurate investigative reports
Skilled with attention to detail and critical thinking
Skilled with strong oral and written communication
Skilled with customer service etiquette
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of investigative experience
Bilingual in both English and Spanish
