They are expanding their data engineering capabilities and seeking an early-career Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of high-volume SQL databases and data pipelines.

Responsibilities
Support the design, development, and maintenance of high-volume SQL databases used in real-time operational systems
Build and maintain data ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines for streaming and batch data
Assist with query optimization, indexing, and schema improvements as data volumes grow
Help monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot performance or reliability issues
Contribute to automation of data workflows, monitoring, and operational tasks with Power Automate and similar tools
Participate in the evaluation and adoption of Microsoft Fabric and other modern data tooling
Provide limited internal Tier I IT support (training provided)
Assist internal users with data access and basic troubleshooting
Help document systems, processes, and operational workflows
Qualification
Required
Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant degree
1–3 years of hands-on experience working with data systems, databases, or ETL pipelines
Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with relational databases
Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred) or modern data tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where deliverables and priorities change daily
Comfortable collaborating with technical and field teams
English (Required)
Ability to Commute: Lafayette, LA 70501 (Required)
Preferred
Experience with ETL/ELT tools, pipeline orchestration, performance tuning, and query optimization
Hands-on experience with some of the following, or a strong desire to learn: (SQL Server/MySQL, Azure IoT Hub, Stream Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or similar)
Creative mindset, innovative tendencies, and self-motivated work ethic
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to debug and support existing applications
with SQL: 1 year (Preferred)
with data warehouse, data lakes or similar: 1 year (Preferred)
with HMI and/or PLC programming: 1 year (Preferred)
