Territory Sales Manager - Oil-Free Air & Industrial Gas Solutions
Atlas Copco is a company that specializes in innovative solutions in industrial gas and oil-free air solutions. They are seeking a Territory Sales Manager to prospect, source, and maintain quality customers in the assigned areas to grow market share in rotary screw air compressors and other product lines. Responsibilities
Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals by developing action plans and schedules to identify specific sales prospects, targets, and/or markets and to project the number of contacts to be made
Call on and sell products directly to customers (end-users), EPC, and through existing distributor partners in the assigned area, and engage in planned prospecting activities (cold calls, in-person and virtual meetings, compressed air system analysis, utilizing in-house lead generating sales tools, etc.) to increase the customer base in the territory
Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity and establish rapport by maintaining regular contact with existing and new customers (particularly key accounts)
Respond promptly to customer inquiries, introducing customers to new products and upgrades, studying customer needs, and coordinating customer service
Continuously update job knowledge (for products, market segments, competitive landscape, and sales/marketing strategies and skills) by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; networking; and participating in professional organizations
Prepare reports as assigned relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against targets and forecasts
Prepare and present proposals, negotiate pricing, and be actively involved in negotiating legal and credit terms
Oversee customer services through quality checks and follow-up; to help in identifying and resolving customer concerns
Maintain a professional image at all times through personal actions and initiatives, by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers
Enhance division and Company reputation and brand image by consistently working to implement the Company’s core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation
Obtain, develop, prepare, deliver, and present sales materials, exhibits, and promotional programs when attending exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national promotional opportunities
Prepare a yearly territory go-to-market strategy through deep analysis of market segments, products and applications, competitive landscape, etc
Qualification
Required
Candidates must reside in Salt Lake City, UT, or are willing to relocate within the territory

The Sales Manager is expected to continuously update their job knowledge (for products, market segments, competitive landscape, and sales/marketing strategies and skills) by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; networking; and participating in professional organizations
The Sales Manager prepares reports as assigned relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against targets and forecasts
All field activity must be maintained consistently and proactively in the company CRM portal, including appointments, opportunity creation, proposal generation, pricing approvals, updated project notes, and short/medium/long-term pipeline management
Preparing and presenting proposals, negotiating pricing, and being actively involved in negotiating legal and credit terms
Overseeing customer services through quality checks and follow-up; to help in identifying and resolving customer concerns
Maintaining a professional image at all times through personal actions and initiatives, by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers

Four-year degree in engineering, business or marketing preferred or equivalent work experience
5+ years of direct industrial equipment sales experience or customer service experience, industrial equipment sales highly preferred
Must be self-directed
A track record of respecting and meeting deadlines is required for this role
Must utilize the company CRM system to log all sales visits and opportunities promptly and in accordance with company-provided KPIs
Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
Have proven business analysis skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Over night travel requirements to visit customers and attend company meetings and training as required
Must have a valid driver's license
