Responsibilities
Architect, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails
Develop responsive, modular front-end components in React
Own features throughout their lifecycle—from design through deployment and monitoring
Collaborate with product and design to translate requirements into technical plans
Improve code quality via testing, reviews, and documentation
Help scale the platform, optimize performance, and drive reliability improvements
Work with modern tooling: CI/CD, version control, observability, and cloud deployments
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making
Participate in roadmap planning and scoping with cross-functional stakeholders
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience building production web applications (or equivalent proficiency)
Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails
Experience building modern UIs with React
Solid grasp of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Understanding of secure and scalable application patterns
Comfort shipping to production and operating in CI/CD environments
Ability to work across the stack without rigid boundaries
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
Preferred
TypeScript experience
GraphQL exposure
Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque, etc.)
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
Experience with DevOps pipelines, testing frameworks, or observability tooling
Prior startup or 0→1 product experience
