Davidson Technologies is seeking a Windows System Administrator summer intern for the Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Huntsville, AL. This role involves a wide range of IT responsibilities, focusing on system and user account administration, while providing the opportunity to shadow experienced system administrators and learn about daily operations.

Responsibilities

Creating procedures for user account management. This includes creating accounts, adding permissions, and locking and unlocking accounts
System builds: All facets of building a system (Joining it to the domain and continued maintenance)
Active shadowing of other system administrators to learn:
Active directory functions: Overview with some hands-on account management
Group Policy: Generalized overview and training
Customer relations: Proper interactions with customers and managing their expectations
Server maintenance: Preventive maintenance checks and patching procedures
Accountability and responsibility
Testing and updating technical work instructions

Required

The selected candidate must be enrolled in higher education, in pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree that relates to the job description (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field)
Currently maintains or can quickly obtain a CompTIA Security+CE certification
Have familiarity with Windows operating system (Windows 11 preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Office basic apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
The ARC Internship Program requires possession or ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
