The Corporate Sustainability Intern will support the development of sustainability programs, assist in climate action plans, and work on various projects related to energy efficiency and LEED certification.

Responsibilities
Work on real-world environmental sustainability programs in direct support of the Director of Sustainability and indirect support of altafiber and Hawaiian Telcom’s network, real estate/facilities, marketing, and fleet management professionals
Work on multiple projects throughout the course of the internship, with regular guidance, support and accountability
Work to reduce the company’s carbon emissions and waste streams (material circularity), certify LEED offices, inventory Scope 3 emissions, and track on-going projects to reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions, depending on skills and interest
Qualification
Required
At least a rising junior in an undergraduate program or graduate student
Coursework or work experience related to sustainability
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional communications including phone calls, emails and in-person interactions
Proficiency in common software programs including Microsoft Office products (word, excel, PowerPoint), and web-based tools
Experience with data analysis
Preferred
Pursuit of a science, business analytics, or engineering degree preferred
